Priority precincts

Priority precincts are key places to deliver more homes in the right locations and improve housing affordability and choice.

Plan for Victoria identifies 15 priority precincts, including the first six Suburban Rail Loop precincts, where we’re planning transformational change to deliver new jobs and homes. They are:

3. Footscray
4. Docklands
5. Fishermans Bend
6. Arden
7. Parkville
8. Richmond to Flinders
9. La Trobe (SRL East precinct)
10. Box Hill (SRL East precinct)
11. Burwood (SRL East precinct)
12. Glen Waverley (SRL East precinct)
13. Monash (SRL East precinct)
14. Clayton (SRL East precinct)
15. Cheltenham–Southland (SRL East precinct)
    

Victoria has a thriving program of works in regional cities and service centres across the state. Some of these works are part of local precincts, like Central Geelong, which is listed on this page. The precincts listed on this page are priority precincts, just like Suburban Rail Loop precincts. The priority precincts listed here are not located around new Suburban Rail Loop stations, and instead centre around existing transport options
