The history of Thomastown Primary School

  • 1855

    The school opened by the Wesleyan Church in 1855. The school was known as Keilbundora Wesleyan School when it opened. There we 23 boys and 22 girls enrolled.

  • 1862

    The school became a common school in 1862.

  • 1875

    The school became a state school in 1875.

  • 1953

    The number of students enrolled in the school was increasing. The school building from Eden Park State School (No. 3477) was moved to the school. Extra land was purchased at this time.

  • 1970

    The school was renamed Thomastown Primary School in 1970. 580 students were enrolled at the time.

  • 2022

    Thomastown Primary School is still in operation.
