The history of Pentland Hills State School

  • 1862

    Pentland Hills opened as a common school in 1862.

    The first head teacher was James Henry.

    The schoolhouse was moved from Korkuperrimul Common School (No. 342).

  • 1870s

    The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.

  • 1886

    Because student numbers were low, the school became part-time. Pentland Hills shared a teacher with Landsberg Mains State School (No. 787). It shared its only teacher with Landsberg Mains and the teacher split their time between both schools.

  • 1889

    Pentland Hills State School closed in 1889.
