The history of Moonlight Flat Common School
1858
Moonlight Flat was opened by the Primitive Methodists.
The wooden school building was built just west of Colles Road on Wesley Hill.
The first head teacher was Ebenezer A. Gilruth.
1860s
The school closed for a period before opening again in 1861.
It became a common school in 1863.
1872
Due to the condition of the school building, plans for a new school were developed.
No. 442 closed when the new school, Moonlight Flat State School (No 1486), opened.
