  • 1865

Lancefield opened in 1865 on Dunsford Street. The first head teacher was Ingram.

  • 1870s

The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878. In 1873 there were 199 students enrolled and the school building was overcrowded.

By 1875 a new brick school building was completed. It was located on the intersection of High Street and Park Street. The Minister of Public Instruction opened the new building in 1876. A new teacher's residence was added around the same time.

A school bus service was established in 1953 to transport students from smaller nearby townships.

  • 1970
