The history of Greendale State School

  • 1869

    Greendale opened as a common school in 1869.

    The first head teacher was Robert Joseph Sutton.

  • 1870s

    Mark Cassidy replaced Robert Joseph Sutton as head teacher in 1870 and he stayed for 5 years.

    The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.

  • 1954

    Greendale State School was closed in 1954.
