The history of Garvoc Primary School

  • 1870

    The Board of Education and a local committee raised funds in 1870 to build Garvoc, a common school.

    The same group built a school at Keilambete. The first head teacher at Garvoc was M Kelly.

  • 1927

    Around 1927 a new two-room weatherboard school was built on the site.

  • 1983

    The school was burnt down on Ash Wednesday. It was subsequently rebuilt.

  • 1993

    The school closed.
