The history of Franklinford Primary School
1851
Franklinford opened near Daylesford in 1851. It was established by H Judkins and was located in the Loddon Protectorate.
The school first operated as a night school. Children 12 years and over as well as young adults who could not attend school during the day would attend night schools.
1866
The school added a four-room teacher's home and moved to a new site where it would remain until it closed.
The first teachers were William Lewis and Agnes Lewis.
Franklinford was now working as both a day and a night school. It had 39 day students and 59 night students enrolled.
1870s to 1880s
In 1876, day student enrolments grew to 46.
By 1886 this increased to 62.

1900
There were 54 students enrolled. The school was repaired and a new teacher house purchased.
1970
The name of the school changed to Franklinford Primary School in 1970.
