The history of Baringhup West Primary School
1869
Baringhup School opened as a private school in 1869.
1870
The school became a common school in 1870, and renamed Baringhup West Common School.
Thomas Flynn was the head teacher, and later Robert McDonald.
1871
In 1871, there were 47 students enrolled, with an average attendance of 22.
1878
By 1878 the bluestone schoolhouse could accommodate 60 students.
It also had a four-room detached teacher's house made of timber.
1940s
The school closed in 1947.
Mrs Anne Allen was the head teacher from 1943 to the closure.
1950s
The school reopened in 1955.
Francis D. Taylor was head teacher until 1959.
1970
The school's name changed to Baringhup West Primary School in 1970.
1974
The school closed in 1974.
