The history of Glenvale Primary School

  • 1860s

    This school opened in 1865 with 27 students enrolled.

    The first head teacher Alfred J Scott, who remained at the school until 1867.

  • 1880s

    The school worked part-time with Upper Plenty State School (No. 1244) from 1881 to 1886.

    It then became a full-time school in 1886.

  • 1895

    The school was closed in 1895.

  • 1900s to 1940s

    The school reopened from 1902 to 1925.

    It was once again reopened in 1927 until it finally closed in 1946.
