The history of Rockbank Primary School

    The school opened as a common school in 1868. It was called New Cambridge Common School when it opened.

  • 1870s

    The school became a state school at some stage between 1873 and 1878.

  • 1906

    The name of the school was changed to Rockbank State School in 1906. James I. Corr was head teacher at the time and there were around 40 students enrolled.

  • 1930s

    A teacher residence was added in the 1930s.

  • 1970

    The school was renamed Rockbank Primary School in 1970.

  • 2022

    Rockbank Primary School is still in operation.
