Enjoying summer together
Victorians love being out in nature, enjoying beaches, rivers, parks and forests but this year will be a little different to others as Victoria reopens and more people than ever leave home to spend time outdoors.
Things may take a little longer this summer, so make sure you plan ahead before you head out. Be patient and give others space when waiting in line or walking through busy areas. There may be limits on the number of people that can safely be onsite at any given time. This includes at accommodation providers, hotels, restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions.
Quick tips so we can all enjoy our summer:
- Before you travel, check local rules and conditions so you’re prepared when you arrive.
- Consider visiting popular areas at a different time.
- Book or call ahead wherever possible to avoid queues or being turned away.
- Obey signs and instructions from lifeguards and park rangers.
Remember, don’t go to out if you feel unwell. Get tested as quickly as possible and isolate until you get a negative result.
If you’re staying away from home, stay in your accommodation until you get a negative result.
