Schools, parents and community members can get help with First Nations cultural inclusion and education support in their area by contacting a Koorie Education Coordinator (KEC).
KECs can arrange for a regional KESO to support a school when engagement with First Nations families is needed.
KESOs are local professionals from First Nations communities.
KESOs help schools create culturally inclusive learning environments. They also help coordinate services that support engagement and better outcomes for First Nations children and young people.
KESOs work with families, communities, schools and service providers to ensure First Nations learners are supported to improve their learning and wellbeing outcomes.
They support students and families during key learning transitions, if needed, including early years, primary school, secondary school and further education.
