A Victoria free from racism and discrimination, where all Victorians enjoy equal rights, freedoms and protections, and thrive in safe, healthy and supportive communities.
Our priority goals
- Goal 1: Racist attitudes, behaviours and beliefs are recognised, challenged and rejected.
- Goal 2: Government services and workplaces are safe, accessible and non-discriminatory.
- Goal 3: Racism and discrimination are no longer barriers to participation, progress, safety and success across all sectors.
- Goal 4: People subjected to racism receive appropriate and culturally safe services and supports.
Key areas for action
Key actions to achieve our priority goals:
- Deliver anti-racism campaigns in sport to drive behaviour change.
- Support community-driven anti-racism initiatives at the local level.
- Strengthen protections to address racism and vilification.
- Build the capability of complaint and oversight bodies to better respond to reports of racism.
- Reduce racism and discrimination in policing.
- Embed monitoring and oversight of anti-racism efforts.
- Build the capability of organisations to be anti-racist.
- Strengthen appropriate and culturally safe support for people subjected to racism and discrimination.
