Please note: If you have concerns about the immediate safety of any person, please call 000.

Providers of social services registered with the Social Services Regulator must report certain incidents that occur during the delivery of social services, and changes to their operations and organisation.

The requirement to report starts once a social service provider is registered. You do not need to notify the SSR about changes to services which are not in scope of the SSR.

Registered social services need to tell the SSR about:

  • incidents which occur during service delivery
  • changes to your organisation and operations
  • when a supported residential services (SRS) provider issues some types of notices to vacate
  • when an SRS resident needs more support than an SRS provider can provide
  • reportable transactions
  • any additional reporting requirements included as part of a registration condition.

There are rules on how you need to report things to the SSR. They will differ depending on what you are telling the SSR about.

What will the SSR do with the information I give them?

We collect and use the requested information to administer our statutory functions under the Social Services Regulation Act 2021.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals. We collect, use, disclose and store personal, sensitive, health and commercially sensitive information in compliance with our obligations under relevant legislation.
