Teaching professional practices and continuous learning resources in Victoria
The Academy launched the Teaching Excellence Program earlier this year to build the expertise of highly skilled teachers from government, Catholic and independent schools across Victoria.
The program enhances teaching excellence through a focus on disciplinary knowledge, responsive pedagogy and practitioner inquiries. It offers a unique, dedicated pathway for teachers who want to deepen their knowledge and cross-sector network, refine their practice and enhance their classroom impact.
Upon graduating and join the program's alumni, you will have an opportunity to engage in fellowships to take your learning further.
In Our Classrooms is an online space and regular e-newsletter for teachers to find best practice approaches, evidence-based classroom resources, professional development opportunities and stories that celebrate the education profession.
This is an approach used to foster school improvement where groups of teachers work collaboratively at the school level to improve student outcomes.
Professional Learning Community (PLC) schools start from a simple idea: students learn more when their teachers work together. It’s a proven way for teachers in schools to increase student learning by creating a culture that is:
- Focused on continuous improvement by linking the learning needs of students with the professional learning and practice of teachers.
- Committed to professionalism.
- Fuelled by collaborative expertise.
