David Miller, Chief Executive Officer, Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery

The Victorian Training Awards present the perfect opportunity to reflect on the dedication, innovation, and ambition that have shaped Victoria’s vocational education and training system.

Victoria’s TAFE Network is pivotal in delivering the skills, training and education that drive Victoria’s prosperity, equality and economic inclusion. We should be proud of our progress and continue to celebrate the remarkable achievements within our VET system.

In addition to celebrating the achievements of our sector, every year the Victorian Training Awards remind us of the ways in which skills and training change people’s lives – stories of graduates who are the first in their families to undertake post-secondary education, stories of dedicated teachers inspiring under-represented cohorts to take up trades, and stories of employers who understand the value of training and investing their staff.

I strongly encourage you to participate in these awards – to continue to recognise the leaders and role models in the Victorian VET system, including TAFEs, and to share and celebrate their stories. You might know an outstanding teacher or trainer, or a passionate apprentice or trainee making significant strides in their field. Maybe that person is you!

Explore this guide, find the support you need to submit your nomination, and most importantly, don’t wait – nominate today!
