SUBJECT: Registration open for professional development sessions for Learn Local trainers: Digital Skills

Actions and critical dates

Registration closing dates for the following sessions are as below:

  • Monday 14 August 2023 for Digital Skills for the Workplace 1 (Introduction to Microsoft Outlook and Email, Introduction to MS Word and Excel, and Introduction to Google Docs and Google Sheets).
  • Monday 28 August 2023 for Digital Skills for the Workplace 2 (Digital Solutions for Gig workers, Online skills for microbusinesses, Online communication, and Point of Sale for Retail and Hospitality).
  • Monday 4 September 2023 for Digital Skills for Job Seekers.

Registrations are now open for professional development sessions for Learn Local trainers and practitioners on the digital skills curriculum and resources available on the Learn Local Secure Portal. These sessions will be run throughout August to September 2023.

  • Wednesday 16 August 2023 @ 12:00–1:00 pm for Digital Skills for the Workplace 1
    (Introduction to Microsoft Outlook and Email, Introduction to MS Word and Excel, and Introduction to Google Docs and Google Sheets).
  • Thursday 31 August 2023 @ 12:00–1:00 pm for Digital Skills for the Workplace 2
    (Digital Solutions for Gig workers, Online skills for microbusinesses, Online communication, and Point of Sale for Retail and Hospitality).
  • Thursday 7 September 2023 @ 12:00–1:00 pm for Digital Skills for Job Seekers.

The professional development sessions aim to build Learn Local trainer capacity and capability in the teaching of digital skills, focusing on the centrally developed curriculum available on the Learn Local Secure Portal and the Learn Local website.

The sessions will focus on the content and delivery strategies, including adaptations for blended and online delivery.

Improved trainer capability will ensure Learn Local trainers are able to deliver core skills to learners in pace with expectations in the Ministerial Statement on the Future of Adult Community Education in Victoria and the ACFE Board’s Strategy. Furthermore, these sessions will ensure that quality-assured ACFE Board-endorsed Learn Local courses are used effectively to strengthen teaching quality and learning outcomes.
