New jobs and opportunities for growth, while reducing waste
Recycling Victoria recognises that businesses are central to Victoria’s transition to a circular economy.
The Victorian Government has committed to new requirements for businesses to sort recyclable materials and organic waste from unrecoverable wastes by 2025.
Recycling Victoria with work with business to develop an approach to meeting these requirements. The requirements – including who needs to comply and what materials are to be sorted – will be detailed in regulations developed by Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in consultation with key stakeholders.
Recycling Victoria will work with Sustainability Victoria to ensure planning and procurement of waste and recycling services caters for community and school programs.
