Victoria's population is ageing. By 2046 more than 2.3 million people will be aged 60 years or older.

In the 2020 Ageing well in a changing world report the Commissioner asked what it means to age well, the barriers to ageing well and the opportunities to better support ageing in Victoria.
Addressing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic
The lived experience and voices of older Victorians informed the action plan. While some people reported positive outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic, many barriers to ageing well were magnified.
What government will do - Ageing well in Victoria action plan
To address the priority issues of older people, the government will deliver on this action plan in four priority areas.
Next steps
We will continue to consult with older people and listen to their lived experience through the Commissioner for Senior Victorians and the Senior Victorians Advisory Group (SVAG).
