About

The Victorian Permissions Framework is a suite of guides and templates that helps policy makers and regulators design, review and improve licences, registrations and other permissions. It supports the Victorian Guide to Regulation.

The framework includes:

  • an example to help you apply the 6-step process
  • 2 guides with step-by-step approaches to work through.

How this tool can help

The Victorian Permissions Framework can help:

  • policy teams assess whether a permission is the right regulatory approach
  • regulator licensing teams save time and effort for themselves and businesses in administering a permission.

The health and transport sectors have successfully used this approach to design new permissions.
