When, location and works description
- Staged lane closures to install drainage and new overhead tram power poles on sections of Williamson, Hampstead and West roads from Tuesday 17 September to Sunday 20 October .
- Nightly lane closures to install underground traffic signals on sections of Williamson and Wests roads from Tuesday 1 October to Saturday 19 October.

What we’re doing
We’ll be temporarily closing sections of lanes to allow us to install new drainage, tram power poles and overhead electrical lines during the day and install underground traffic signals at night.
Where and when we’ll be working
We’ll be working on sections of Hampstead, Williamson and Wests roads from 9am to 3.30pm, Tuesday 17 September to Sunday 20 October.
We’ll connect the new overhead electrical lines to the existing network on Sunday 20 October.
We’ll be working on sections of Williamson and Wests roads and within the project site at 61 – 71 Hampstead Road nightly from 8pm to 6am, Tuesday 1 October to Saturday 19 October.
What to expect
- An increase in noise, construction vehicles and machinery movements
- Additional lighting for night works
- Pedestrian detours
- Traffic management and signage in place
Changes to the way you travel
Please follow reduced speed limits, detour signage and the direction of traffic controllers during these works and allow extra time when travelling through the area.
Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.
