Victorians to shine on national stage

Finalists for the Australian Training Awards have now been announced.

Finalists for the Australian Training Awards(opens in a new window) have now been announced, with Victoria once again strongly represented across individual, business and registered training organisation categories.

The Australian awards are a national showcase of best practice in vocational education and training and celebrate inspiring apprentices, business leaders, teachers, trainers and training providers. The event follows the Victorian Training Awards gala awards evening, which this year celebrated its 70th anniversary on 30 August 2024.

Victorian finalists in the 2024 Australian Training Awards are as follows:

Business and Registered Training Organisation Awards

  • Australian Apprenticeships Employer Award – Cummins South Pacific
  • Industry Collaboration Award – Mobile Skills Lab – Aged Care Collaboration
  • Innovation in VET Award – Airservices Australia
  • Small Training Provider of the Year Award – Australian Institute of Engineering
  • Large Employer of the Year Award – Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency

Individual awards

  • VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year Award – Dr Adam Bignold
  • Vocational Student of the Year Award – Carly Brown
  • Australian School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award – Alicia Farr
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award – Taylor Hampton
  • Trainee of the Year Award – Emma Holgate
  • Apprentice of the Year Award – Matthew Tyquin

Winners will be announced at a special gala event in Canberra on Friday 6 December 2024.
