The portal is a one-stop shop for parents and carers seeking information and resources when planning to have a child. It includes resources on maternal and child health services, early childhood education, playgroups, kindergarten, and critical information on emergency services.

Department of Government Services (DGS) Digital Transformation Program Manager Michael Baranovic said the portal was created with research and feedback from Victorian families and carers navigating the stages of parenthood.

"The Service Victoria Parents' Portal was shaped by roundtable research with a range of Victorian families who provided clear feedback," Michael said.

"They told us that information on navigating key milestones in their child's life-such as vaccinations and applying for childcare-can be hard to find," he said.

"We developed the Parents' Portal to serve as an aggregator, bringing together resources on key life events and essential healthcare services in one convenient place."

Michael said the portal is designed to help families find and access information through intuitive search and filtering options.

"This is just the first step in improving access to resources for Victorian families," Michael said.

"We will continue expanding the portal over time, incorporating new functions and interactive features based on user feedback."

The new portal is part of the government's digital transformation agenda, designed to make it quicker and easier for Victorians to do business with government.

You can access the Parents' Portal through the Service Victoria website or app, available on the Apple or Google Play Store.
