Ministerial Youth Advisory Group

Applications are now open for the Ministerial Youth Advisory Group, who give advice to the minister on child protection and care services in Victoria.

The Ministerial Youth Advisory Group (MYAG) is for young people:

  • aged 15 to 25 years
  • with experience living away from their families in the Victorian care system.

The diverse group of young Victorians will give advice on:

  • different experiences young people can have living in child protection and care (e.g. foster, kinship, permanent and residential).
  • what works well and how to improve child protection and care services.

The advisory group will have 2 co-chairs and up to 15 members. The Minister for Children will be one of the chairs.

The Victorian Government is committed that the advisory group reflect the diversity of the Victorian community. If you are a young person aged 15 to 25 years with experience living in child protection and care, we encourage you to apply.

This includes:

  • First Nations
  • people with disability
  • people from multicultural communities
  • LGBTIQA+ people
  • people who live in metropolitan Melbourne, as well as rural and regional Victoria.
