Torquay Beach Kinder

Speaker 1: Bringing kids outside into nature allows them to learn about nature and, really take environmental stewardship to the next level.

They become the next role models of the environment.

They look after the environment.

They learn how to be in the environment and interact with all the natural surroundings that we have here.

Everything that we do indoors can be replicated outdoors.

So we basically do learning about STEM literacy, numeracy.

It's a great opportunity for children to be outdoors and learn about the coastal environment.

We’re providing that hands on learning for the children, because they're natural learners.

They, they're really curious, they ask lots of questions.

And we have that opportunity to answer those questions and learn with them and progress with them.

So it's a great opportunity for children to learn and interact with the environment.

Speaker 2: This area and this beach kinder is about them enjoying learning, learning in play.

I think what it benefits the children massively is that they see it, they see learning in a different space.

Learning isn't in the classroom, they're totally engaged here.

They're doing things that they’re interested, they’re really interested in them.

And then we, we can see what they're interest, and then we'll transfer it back into an emerging interest in the centre.

So yeah the children look there's not one person unhappy.

Do you know what I mean?

They’re, yeah.

They’re thoroughly enjoying it.
