Bachar Houli: Early childhood education is important for a child's learning and development.
Here in Victoria, Four-Year-Old Kinder is becoming Pre-Prep.
Hours will gradually increase from 15 to 30 hours per week by 2036.
More hours means more learning.
Pre-Prep will roll-out gradually across Victoria, starting in 2025.
Having more time at kinder means more opportunities for kids to develop important skills through play.
I've seen the positive impact kinder has had on my children.
Things that they've learnt, I've noticed, his shapes, colours, numbers as well.
So these things that obviously that my son’s picked up, particularly over this last period has been, amazing for his development.
And obviously he's, his confidence at home as well.
And I think there's no better way to, develop than them than ways of, incorporating playing.
Another great thing is that Free Kinder is available across Victoria.
Free Kinder is available for Three-and Four-Year-Old kindergarten programs at participating services.
Saving Victorian families up to $2500 per child per year.
Free Kinder, Three-Year-Old kindergarten, and now Pre-Prep.
The Victorian Government are making early childhood education easier to access and giving more children the best start in life.
