Early Learning Leadership Forums

00:00:02:12 - 00:00:06:00 It's really important that leaders come together and share their knowledge

00:00:06:00 - 00:00:09:13 and information, and that's succession planning for our future.

00:00:09:15 - 00:00:13:12 So that we continue to provide quality education

00:00:13:12 - 00:00:18:04 and care for the children in our early learning services.

00:00:19:18 - 00:00:23:10 Coming to these leadership forums really provides me with an opportunity

00:00:23:10 - 00:00:24:12 to get updates

00:00:24:12 - 00:00:28:05 from the Department of Education, what they're focusing on and supports

00:00:28:05 - 00:00:32:15 that are in place that really support the work that we do in early years.

00:00:32:17 - 00:00:35:17 All the speakers have been amazing and so inspiring.

00:00:35:23 - 00:00:41:02 They've all come with that same message of you never stop learning,

00:00:41:04 - 00:00:44:22 you're always reflective in your practice, and it becomes a habit.

00:00:46:05 - 00:00:48:09 I like to hear what other people are doing in

00:00:48:09 - 00:00:51:15 other spaces, other ways of being, other ways of thinking.

00:00:51:17 - 00:00:54:09 it's really good to be able to talk to people that have maybe experienced

00:00:54:09 - 00:00:57:14 some of the challenges or roadblocks that you have.

00:00:57:16 - 00:01:00:00 I'm also meeting people who are new to the field as well,

00:01:00:00 - 00:01:02:14 and they've got questions about what they're doing day to day.

00:01:02:14 - 00:01:03:06 So it's just,

00:01:03:06 - 00:01:05:07 you know, handing over your number, your email address

00:01:05:07 - 00:01:07:08 and then having those mentor conversations.

00:01:07:08 - 00:01:09:24 I love being able to assist that way.

00:01:10:01 - 00:01:12:03 I'm pretty green and fresh in my leadership.

00:01:12:03 - 00:01:16:12 So hearing from people with a lot of experience and getting that

00:01:16:12 - 00:01:20:08 skill and insight from what they're doing and just sharing ideas is nice as well.

00:01:21:16 - 00:01:24:01 The Best Start Best Life reforms,

00:01:24:05 - 00:01:27:17 it's a really exciting time for us in early years education.

00:01:27:17 - 00:01:30:08 Leaders when they're leading teams

00:01:30:08 - 00:01:35:14 through the reforms, it's really important to stay calm and be positive.

00:01:35:14 - 00:01:40:01 I think if we plan, if we work together coming to these forums

00:01:40:01 - 00:01:43:13 allows us opportunities to connect with others and get different ideas

00:01:43:15 - 00:01:48:14 if we can work together to move forward, that's the best way and the best approach.

00:01:48:16 - 00:01:52:04 By investing in these early years, it has such a prolific

00:01:52:04 - 00:01:55:11 and such an important role on children's development.

00:01:55:17 - 00:01:59:16 The families that we're working with to improve outcomes for children

00:01:59:19 - 00:02:01:19 and our society.

00:02:01:21 - 00:02:04:11 The leadership forums are something that I’ll continue

00:02:04:11 - 00:02:07:08 to go to and use them as an excellent

00:02:07:08 - 00:02:11:14 learning tool and I encourage new leaders to be able to be brave and vulnerable

00:02:11:14 - 00:02:12:24 in this setting and learn.

00:02:13:08 - 00:02:16:05 That's the message, these forums are so important.

00:02:16:07 - 00:02:18:14 But it's also it's really, really invigorating.

00:02:18:14 - 00:02:21:14 And if you miss them, well then you're really doing a disservice

00:02:21:14 - 00:02:25:02 to yourself and to your and to your service.
