Maidstone Construction update – February 2025 – Road works in March

We’re building a new tram maintenance and stabling facility for Melbourne’s new next-generation G Class trams on part of the 61–71 Hampstead Road site in Maidstone.

To allow for road line marking and overhead wiring works there will be some temporary road and lane closures in the area from Thursday 13 March to Monday 17 March, including the closure of the intersection of Hampstead, Williamson and Wests roads over two nights.

Detours will be in place for drivers and pedestrians, as well as changes to bus routes 215, 406 and 408 and Route 82 trams.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times. See inside for more information about changes to how you travel.

We know these works are disruptive and thank the community for their
patience.
