The Victorian Government is developing the second Family Violence Rolling Action Plan (RAP2) and are welcoming feedback through Engage Victoria(opens in a new window) until 31 August.
Nearly 4 years into the Government's 10-year plan to rebuild the family violence system: ‘Ending Family Violence: Victoria’s Plan for Change’, more than two-thirds of the Family Violence Royal Commission recommendations have been implemented.
RAP2 will shift the focus beyond the Royal Commission recommendations toward a new phase of embedding family violence prevention, early intervention, and response as a sustainable, ongoing, whole of government commitment, including an increased focus on prevention and perpetrators.
The Victorian Government will continue to incorporate what they have learnt so far, including learnings from coronavirus (COVID-19) into family violence reform, to ensure it is responsive and adaptive. The sector has been responding and adjusting to the current pandemic and delivering services and support under challenging conditions.
RAP2 will be launched in late 2020 as part of the government’s commitment to the 10-year plan: ‘Ending Family Violence: Victoria’s Plan for Change’. Government is keen to hear from stakeholders while acknowledging the enormous pressure on the sector at this time.
The Engage Victoria consultation(opens in a new window) is open for responses until Monday 31 August.
