Read the ACFE Division Fact Sheet. These memos will be called ACFE Division Memos from today onwards.

Victoria’s approach to skills and training is being revitalised. As part of this reform, the following entities have been established:

  • Victorian Skills Authority (VSA)
  • Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD)
  • A refined Higher Education and Skills (HES) Group, within the Department of Education and Training, that includes a dedicated Adult, Community and Further Education Division (ACFE Division).

I am pleased to let you know that the new ACFE Division is now operational. I am excited to lead the ACFE Division as we continue to work with the ACFE Board to deliver the vision and expectations outlined in the Ministerial Statement on the Future of Adult Community Education in Victoria 2020-25 and the ACFE Board Strategy 2020-25.

The ACFE Division will also work collaboratively to connect the work of the Division and ACFE Board with programs led by the HES group, the OTCD, VSA and other Departments across state and federal governments.

Providing adult education in local community settings that supports learners to achieve their learning goals is a critical piece of the higher education and training landscape. Changes to the skills system in Victoria strengthens the quality and delivery of pre-accredited training (Learn Local courses) to make sure learners develop the core skills they need to engage in further study and work, and to pursue pathways to employment.

Please see the ACFE Division Fact Sheet for further information about the skills reform and the ACFE Division.

Going forward these memos will be called "ACFE Division Memos". Otherwise, there are no changes to the way you contact ACFE Division staff. Learn Local providers are still encouraged to contact your relevant Department regional teams and all other enquiries should be directed to learnlocal@education.vic.gov.au.
