The Central Information Point (CIP) is now operating, with the first CIP reports provided to family violence practitioners on 18 April 2018.
The CIP is a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and is supported by new information sharing laws.
The CIP consolidates critical information about a perpetrator of family violence into a single report to support risk assessment and management activities, helping to keep women and children safer.
The CIP report will also help services keep the perpetrator in view and accountable.
Government agencies whose information can now be shared include Victoria Police, Courts Services Victoria, Corrections Victoria and the Department of Health and Human Services.
The CIP provides timely access to critical information about a perpetrator of family violence, with reports being delivered within hours.
