On Tuesday 18 March 2025 the Victorian Government announced a Board of Inquiry into the McCrae landslide.
The Inquiry will investigate the cause of the landslide, what happened, and the adequacy of preventative measures taken to mitigate the risks of landslides in the McCrae area.
The Inquiry is required to deliver a final report to government by 18 June 2025.
The Inquiry’s findings and recommendations will identify any measures to prevent or mitigate the risk of similar events occurring in the future in McCrae.
Chair and terms of reference
Renée Enbom KC has been appointed to chair the Inquiry.
The Inquiry will conduct its work in accordance with the Terms of Reference set out in the Order In Council.
