How do we use the information you enter in the chatbot?
Your responses will be used to help us provide you with information in your preferred language about COVID-19, transport, housing, education, work, legal rights and more.
Your responses provided in this chatbot will be kept confidential and we do not need you to input any personal information. We do not seek to collect any information that identifies you. We only use your mobile phone number to establish a secure connection through WhatsApp for the purpose of delivering the service.
Your use of the chatbot is voluntary and you are free to exit from it at any time, without consequence. The information you enter into the chatbot is managed by the Multicultural Affairs portfolio of Fairer Victoria within the Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) together with assistance from our service providers for IT/administrative management and cloud storage. Some of our providers’ cloud storage servers for WhatsApp are located overseas (primarily in the US). None of your information will be used, shared or disclosed by providers other than for storage management purposes.
What happens if you are identifiable based on the information you provide?
If your answers could identify you, or where personal information is collected by DFFH via this chatbot, it will be handled in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and our Privacy Policy.
DFFH will not seek to personally identify you from any collected information, or use any personal or health information for publication or reporting purposes.
