Dr Fartun Farah

Dr Fartun Farah is the chairperson of the East African Women's Foundation. She founded this foundation in 2007.

Through Fartun's hard work, the Foundation has brought together women from East African communities living in Melbourne's west. It has supported them by providing advocacy and referral services and engaged them in cultural and communal activities.

Fartun and the Foundation have helped many women, especially women from a migrant background and new to Australia. They have formed a shared community and built a local support network, whilst retaining and celebrating their cultural heritage.
