World Teachers' Day is an opportunity to say thank you to the teachers who continue to make a difference today – and everyday – to children and young people’s lives.
World Teachers’ Day will be celebrated in Victoria on Friday 25 October during Term 4, which coincides with the Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
How to show appreciation for Victorian teachers
Schools are encouraged to share images and any public-facing celebrations for World Teachers’ Day through social media and tag the Department of Education on LinkedIn or X and use the hashtag #WorldTeachersDay2024.
Schools may also choose to write a letter of acknowledgement to teachers in their newsletter or share World Teachers’ Day downloadable resources, which are linked below, with their school communities.
Parents and carers are also welcome to recognise their child’s teacher, or even assist with a morning tea for teachers.
