110 to go by 2030
Cranbourne, Pakenham, Lilydale, Sunbury, Werribee and Frankston lines
created for public use
We're removing 110 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2030, the largest project of its kind in Victoria's history.
We're also overseeing a number of network improvement projects including line upgrades as well as new and upgraded train stations.
Removing level crossings improves safety and reduces congestion, helping motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.
Our work helps create thousands of jobs during construction and helps get people home safer and faster.
Planned timeline
A total of 110 level crossings will be removed by 2030.
